This is a request for Council to approve the hiring of Beth Richtsmeier for the position of police officer.
Ms. Richtsmeier was selected for the position after the completion of a selection process that included an
application screening,written test, interview and background investigation. She completed her schooling at
Mankato State University and the Center for Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement and has met all
requirements of the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training Board to become a licensed peace officer.
She is currently working for the Anoka Police Department as a security officer at the Anoka Metro Regional
Treatment Center and as a Community Service Officer for the Anoka County Sheriffs Office. Previous
experience includes working as a Community Advocate at Alexander House, a domestic abuse program.
Beth Richtsmeier is well qualified for the position, and staff recommends her hiring as the city's newest police
officer. She has completed and passed the required medical and psychological examinations and drug testing.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF BETH RICHTSMEIER FOR
THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER.
