Three (3) bids were received on the project. The low bidder for the project is Richard Knutson, Inc., of Savage, MN in the amount of $692,472.64. The bids ranged from the low bid to a high bid of 5865,804.40 and the Engineer's Estimate was $817,831 .75. The firm of SEH, Incorporated, the Consulting Engineers for the project and Staff recommend the award of Project #300 to Richard Knutson, Inc. In the amount of $692,472.64. The bids ranged from a high of$865,804.40 to a low of$692,472.64. The low bid was submitted by Richard Knutson, Inc. The engineer's estimate was $817,831.75. A copy of the bid summary is attached.. . Based on our experience with Richard Knutson, Inc., and based on information provided by the contractor, we believe that they have a sufficient understanding of the project and equipment to perform the construction, and they have the financial ability to complete the work(SEH makes no representation or warranty as to the actual financial viability of the contractor or its ability to complete its work). Accordingly, we recommend that the project be awarded to Richard Knutson,Inc. in the amount of $692,472.64, contingent upon the City's receipt of all permits and easements. Sincerely, . David F. All bids on construction of the Rosemount Commons Street & Utility Improvements are hereby received and tabulated. 2. The bid of Richard Knutson, Inc., in the amount of 5692,472.64 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for_the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Rosemount. 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
