This is a request for Council to approve the hiring of Mick A. Kaehler for the position of building official.
Dan Rogness, Sue Walsh and I interviewed six candidates and unanimously selected Mr. Kaehler to fill the
position. He is currently the Building Official for Vadnais Heights and other previous work experience include
Assistant Building Official for Hastings, Building Official for Oak Park Heights, four years of municipal code
enforcement experience and several years of carpenter experience. Mr. Kaehler stated he is interested in
working for the City of Rosemount because of our growth and new development. He is well qualified for the
position, and staff recommends hiring Mr. Kaehler as the city's new Building Official.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF MICK KAEHLER FOR THE
POSITION OF BUILDING OFFICIAL.
