This item is a request for City Council to approve the plans and specifications and order
the advertisement for bids for the Conley Avenue Street & Utility Improvements, City
Project $303. We have a set of plans and specifications on file in my office for your
examination. Previously the Council received the Feasibility Report on March 16, 1999
and ordered the preparation of plans and specifications on April 20, 1999.
The plans and specifications have to be approved by the Dakota County Highway
Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation State Aid Office. The bid
opening is scheduled for July 2, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at the City Hall. We expect to
award a contract for the project on July 6, 1999 and complete construction by October of
this year.
Staff and WSB & Associates, the Engineer for the project, recommend that the City
Council take the action as described below.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR CONLEY
AVENUE STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #303.

RESOLUTION 1999 -
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
CONLEY AVENUE STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT #303
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount have ordered the preparation of plans
and specifications for Conley Avenue Street & Utility Improvements, City Project #303 and
such plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1 . Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and
the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications for City Project #303.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less
than three (3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work to be
done, shall state the bids will be publicly opened on July 2, 1999 at 10:00 o'clock
a.m. at Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's
check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5%) percent of
the amount of such bid.
