This item is for Council consideration to not allow parking on the proposed Conley Avenue
in the Rich Valley Industrial Park between CSAH 42 and 140th Street East. The proposed
44 feet wide street is being designed to State Aid standards and this "No Parking"
resolution is required with this design. Due to the nature of the trucking businesses in the
area, on-street parking is not necessary and the street is being designed to allow for the
wide turning radiuses required by tractor-trailer units but also to minimize the pavement
surface. Furthermore, the turn lanes to the businesses and streets on Conley also inhibit
on-street parking. Therefore Staff is recommending the adoption of the resolution which
would not allow parking on Conley Avenue between CSAH 42 to 140th Street East.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF
THE NO PARKING SIGNS ALONG CONLEY AVENUE BETWEEN COUNTY STATE AID
HIGHWAY 42 NORTH TO 140TH STREET EAST.

A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF NO PARKING
SIGNS ALONG CONLEY AVENUE BETWEEN COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 42
NORTH TO 140TH STREET EAST
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount is interested in the safety of its
residents; and
WHEREAS, the continued development in the City of Rosemount has produced high volumes
of vehicular and pedestrian traffic within the City of Rosemount; and
WHEREAS, vehicle parking along both sides of Conley Avenue between CSAH 42 north to
140th Street East does create a hazard.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount directs
the installation of the appropriate "No Parking" signs on both sides of Conley Avenue
between CSAH 42 north to 140th Street East.
