For City Council consideration is a recommendation for Council to hire Maureen Asleson for the Rental
Coordinator position. This position became vacant when Lisa Mauer was promoted to the position of
Recreation Supervisor. Approximately 30 applications were submitted for this position, and Assistant to
Administrator Susan Walsh, Community Center Manager Dave St. Aubin and myself interviewed ten
candidates. The interview panel unanimously agreed that Ms. Asleson is an ideal candidate for this highly
visible position. She currently performs similar duties, such as scheduling rooms and assisting the public, at the
American Red Cross. She also worked with youth and families at the Anoka County Juvenile Center in Lino
Lakes and at the New Brighton Family Service Center. Ms. Asleson has a Bachelor's degree in recreation. Her
education,work experience, motivation and communication skills qualifies her for this position.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO HIRE MAUREEN ASLESON FOR THE POSITION OF
RENTAL COORDINATOR
