PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR � ATTACHMENTS : APPROVED BY: This is a recommendation for Council to consider the hiring of Joseph Werden for the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker. This hiring will fill the vacancy created this summer when an employee was unable to return to work due to a disability. The city received approximately 60 applications and the interview panel consisting of myself, Rick Cook and Susan Walsh interviewed six candidates. Mr. Werden proved to be the best candidate for the position, and he is well qualified to perform the duties. He has worked as a signal maintainer for Canadian Pacific Railroad Company since 1990 and can run various types of construction equipment and has a Class A CDL driver's license. He will be a good addition to the Public Works Maintenance staff. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF JOSEPH WERDEN FOR THE POSITION OF MAINTENANCE WORKER.
