I have served the City of Rosemount on the Planning Commission since
September, 1993. Over this time I have seen many changes.Residents have
always ezpressed that the dream community would be one that offers the
large community benefits but retains the small town image. I have this
same dream. The community is growing and I would like to continue with
my involvement On the Planning Commission to finish a job that I have
I have been involved with over these years with the opportunity to take the

I am applying for positions on both the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Planning Commission
because I feel that my knowledge and experience would make me a valuable addirion to both these
committees. As a three-year resident of the city of Rosemount,I have had the opportunity to read and learn
about a community creating its idenrity as we enter the 21 st century.qs a father of a two-week old,I want
to continue to make Rosemount a place that my family can call home for many years to come.
As a member of the Planning Commission,my goal would be to see that Rosemount maintains a small
community feel while managing the challenges of the ever-growing Twin Cities area.I had the opportunity
to watch my father spend the past five years on his Planning Commission in a similaz setting in a Chicago
suburb.By observing my father's experience I learned that it is important to manage residential goals and
business interests.I feel I can help all sides to make Rosemount a better place.
Before moving to Minnesota,I worked as a Recreation Program Super„isor for the city of Glendale
Heights,Illinois.Having been part of a Recreation department,I knor, what a challenge it can be to offer
the best use of the land and facilities available to all people in the community. With my previous job
experience,I feel that I can help in maintaining Rosemount's parks and recreation excellence.

Yes.
P/ease write a statement as to why you wish to serve on the commission/committee.
Also state what vision you have or goal you would like to accomplish while serving on
the indicated commission.
While listening to the City Council discussion at a recent workshop on the
Comprehensive Guide Plan update and reading the campaign material of
the recently elected officials, I was pleased to see I share a similar vision. I
believe as Rosemount grows in population and increases its
commercialndustrial base it can, with careful planning, preserve its
downtown and friendly small town, rural charm. This is a community with a
rich history and a promising future.
Rosemount is also a community that values the involvement of its citizens,
young and old. I feel one of the best ways I can be involved in my
community is to take part in the governmental process that guides its
development. That development whether it is residential or
commercialndustrial should be done in such a way as to connect with the
rest of the community. My experience as a Rosemount City Council
