City Engineer/Public Works D'uector : ��'��:� � � � ' i ATTACHMENTS: Resolution and Drawings APPROVED BY: �nj Attached is a sketch and legal description of property the city is proposing to purchase from Marlin and JoAnn Rechtzigel for the purpose of constructing the east-side water tower. Also attached is a drawing of the elevated water storage tanks that we are proposing to receive bids for. The proposed tower will hold 500,000 gallons,which is similar in size to the Chippendale Avenue water tower. Staff has tentatively agreed with the Rechtzigels on the purchase of the property. The purchase price for the 4.2 acres will be $30,000 per acre,plus other considerations. The access to the site will be from CR 42,which will also have the watermain connection to proposed facilities within the CR 42 right-of-way. Staff recommends the two motions be taken as described below. CITY COUNCIL ACTION: CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY,MINNESOTA - RESOLUTION 1999- A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE PROJECT, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR EAST SIDE WATER TOWER IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT#302 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has ordered the preparation of plans and specifications for East Side Water Tower Improvements, City Project#302 and such plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval: NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota: 1. Such improvements are hereby ordered as proposed. 2. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the ('onstruction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the ma.king of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications for City Project#302. 4. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than three(3)weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work to be done, shall state the bids will be publicly opened on September 15, 1999 at 11:00 o'clock a.m. at Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check,bid bond and certified check payable to the City Clerk for five(5%)percent of the amount of such bid.
