The 2000 Budget includes funding for street and utility improvements for the
reconstruction of Dodd Boulevard between Chippendale Avenue and Shannon Parkway,
plus the reconstruction of Cimarron Avenue between 145th Street West and Dodd
Boulevard. The improvements will include the conversion of the existing rural section
roadway to an urban section and any necessary water, sanitary sewer and storm
drainage improvements. As part of the project we will investigate adding parking to Fire
Station #1 .
The funding for the project will come from many sources including assessments,
Municipal State Aid, the Capital Improvement Plan Funds, and the Sanitary Sewer, Water
and Storm Drain Utility Operating Funds.
Staff will be assigning this project to WSB & Associates. We are requesting the initiation
of the project now to allow for the necessary survey work to be completed prior to
snowfall. Tentatively the project will be brought back to the City Council in January for
review prior to the Chapter 429 process. There are very few properties which will be
assessed on this project, but because there are assessments all of the voting at the
Council level will have to carry a 4:1 majority.
Staff recommends adopting the attached resolution to direct Staff to begin work on the
Dodd Boulevard and Cimarron Avenue Reconstruction projects.

A RESOLUTION ORDERING A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR
THE 2000 STREET AND UTILITY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
CITY PROJECT #316
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount deems it necessary to investigate
the feasibility of the 2000 Street and Utility Reconstruction Project, Dodd Boulevard
between Chippendale Avenue and Shannon Parkway, and Cimarron Avenue between
145th Street West and Dodd Boulevard, City Project #316.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Engineer is directed to have the necessary
feasibility report prepared for the 2000 Street and Utility Reconstruction Project, Dodd
Boulevard between Chippendale Avenue and Shannon Parkway, and Cimarron Avenue
between 145th Street West and Dodd Boulevard, City Project #316.
