This public hearing is being held to consider an application for an On-Sale Liquor License and a Special Sunday Liquor License by Tavern on 42, Inc. ASSISTANT TO ADMIlVISTR.ATOR ATTACHMENTS: DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS APPROVED BY: An application for On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License and Sunday Liquor License was submitted by Tavern on 42,Ltd. John Ursino is the owner and manager of this business and will attend the public hearing on behalf of the company. This new business will be located at the vacant Tom Thumb store located at 15040 Canada Avenue. The owners are anticipating opening the new business on or about March 17, 1999. Attached is a description of the new restaurantltavern submitted by John and Susan Ursino. It will be a family restaurant with the bar being separate from the dining area. Liquor license fees were collected from the applicant to cover the license period of March 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999. The Ursinos requested that the hearing be held as soon as possible so that they can begin remodeling of the building for a March opening. Background checks were conducted, and Lt. Kuhns advised the owners have clear records. Also on the January 5, 1999 agenda is a petition from the Ursinos to rezone the lot where the business is to be located from Cl to C4. Council may want to address the rezoning issue before taking action on the liquor license applications. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE ISSUANCE OF AN INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE AND SPECIAL SUNDAY LIQUOR LICENSE TO TAVERN ON 42 LTD. FOR THE PERIOD OF MARCH 1, 1999 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1999. Attachment Application for Liquor License Question 15 THE TAVERN ON 42 The Tavern on 42 will be a family style restaurant with semi—private booths and one private dining! meeting room with a seperate bar azea. We are trying to target families and businesses in the area for lunches,dinners and special events. We hope to be able to seat about 140—150 people in the dining room and the bar.Our market strategy is to have moderate priced menu items that fill a need in the City of Rosemount area. The only form of entertainment we have planned for aze,Pull Tabs for charity, Seven televisions in the bar area,and light recorded background music in the bar area only. Our menu,as stated abo��e,will consist of moderate priced items such as, Grilled Salmon, Steaks,Chicken, other types of Fish,Salads, Soups,Burgers,Sandwiches and Appetizers,as well as daily drink and food specials. The fixtures on the dining room side will consist of tables and booths in a well lit family atmosphere,done in light pine and other matching colors,with an open view to the grill area o€the ldtchen for added atmosphere. The bar area�ill be done in dark Mahagorry. We have purchased an antique back bar that was built in or around 1915 and will be the focal point of our Uar. The rest of the bar will be furnished with booths that are equipped�ith antique church pews and tables with dark chairs. the bar itself will seat sixteen people and will be equipped with seven televisions for�zewing sporting and other interesting events. It will be a little da�cer then the resta�ant The bar and restaraunt will be separated by a partial height wall and glass petition.
