The verbiage from Vanney describes each phase and the temporary moves that would be made during the construction. After discussions with the architect, it is proposed to have one contractor bid the entire project and complete it within one year. The estimated project costs as discussed last time are approximately $840,000. We would have to add furniture and/or partitions, which would add another $60,000 to the cost, for a total of $900,000. Amortized over a 20-year period at 6% interest, the annual payment would be approximately $80,000. This item is for Council discussion and to get direction for the CIP for the next few years. RECOMMENDED ACTION: DISCUSSION ONLY Vanney Associates ` Architects Designers August 6,1999 Phasin�Plan Schedule Phase IA- Existing Council Chamber to be renovated by installing a structural upper level floor for the new upper level(71)seat Council Chambers. The lower level wi►Il be constructed into the Police Station public reception area,Clerical Records,Chief's office,conference room,files and Investigation. Temporary move: The existing Council Chambers can be relocated temporary to the Armory site during construction of Phase IA,II,III and IV. Phase 1B- Construction of a new Police parking garage addition at the lower level of the existing Police garage.Provide a opening from the existing garage to the new(9)car parldng �ge• The upper level of the existing Police garage will be offices spaces for Civil Engineering and Public Works relocation from Phase IV. The upper level of the new parking garage will have a partial mezzanine for storage and future office expansion at roof. Temporary move: The existing Police gazage will be accessible except at the end of Phase IB,the new opening connecting the addition. Park outside during this construction. Phase II- Renovation of the City Hall front reception and office area. Provide a three window front counter,separating Building/Planning,License/Utility and Finance with additional work space for each. Relocate departments to designated areas with additional cential filing/library area. Temporary move: The existing departments will be temporarily relocated to the new upper level Council Chambers(Phase IA)and to the new upper level office space over the existing Police garage(Phase IB). Phase IV- Renovation of the existing Police Department/building latchen azea. Relocate Police Departments to designated azeas,additional Police locker room s�ce and provide a new kitchen area separated for City Hall/Police use.
