I wish to serve on the Rosemount City Council because I want to inspire voters to
become involved in the political process. The 1997 survey put out by the City of Rosemount
and commissioned by Decision Resources concluded that 63% of the residents feel they could
have a say about the way the city is run. 47% feel there is adequate opportunity for community
input into decisions by the city affecting the rate of growth in the community. Those numbers
are high, and I would like to see even more interest by local residents. It is my hope that voters
will tuke the time and initiative ta educate themselves on the issues surrounding them so our
government can be run the way it was intended ---by the people and for the people.
If appointed to serve on Rosemount's City Council, I would make it my goal to help
preserve Rosemount's small-town ambience and rural character. These are two of the reasons
my husband and I chose to live in Rosemount. I look forward to the opportunity of playing a
part in preserving this community as we enter the 21g`century.
In talking to neighbors and local residents, I have discovered that Rosemount citizens
value a slower growth pace, and at the same time, desire economic prosperity. For example, it's
important to preserve land for parks and agriculture, yet reserve a moderate amount of land for
development. By keeping a strong balance, Rosemount will continue to enjoy the character it
prides itself with. Rosemount truly offers the best of both worlds to its residents, and I hope
this continues in the future.
For the last seven years, I have been involved in developing my political leadership at the
state and national level. I have worked at the White House, managed state and local campaigns,
worked at the Minnesota House of Representatives and am currently working for the Minnesota
Secretary of State's Office. I have enjoyed being a part of changing legislation to help people. I
look forward to the chance to work at the local level with the Rosemount City Council.

Dear Mr. Broback:
The City of Rosemount, the Park and Recreation Committee,
and the Park and Recreation Department would like to express
their appreciation for the time and energy you gave in helping
to construct the hockey rinks. We realize that yoti had to sac-
rifice something out of your personal life/lives to give what
you did, and we wanted you to know that we are aware of this
and do appreciate it very much. It would have been impossible
to construct the facilities in so short a time and without a
great deal of additional expense without the help of people
like yourselves. The 1976-1977 Hockey Program and all its
participants would have been hampered by the lack of ice if
these facilities had not been built. Your tielp did make a dif-
ference, a big difference. It :.s very reassuring to know that
when the need is there, people are willing to give of themselves,
to pitch in and help.
Thank You! !
Most Appreciatively,

Dear Jim,
I would like to express my thanks for the kind letter you sent
to our Men's Club President Bob Fawcett. It is not very often that
another person will take the time to congratulate another club for
its victories. Your letter showed a lot of class. It indicates to
me that your club enjoys the keen competition and gentlemenly
spirit that surrounds this great game that we all enjoy.
As we head towards the 1991 season I would like to extend our
best wishes to you and your Men's Club for a very successful
1991 golf season. If there is anything I or my staff can do to
assist you or your club please don't hesitate to call me.
Sincerely yo rs,
