The emergency siren located in Shannon Park was blown down and destroyed during the storm
of May 31 , 1998. Since the siren needed to be replaced, an analysis of coverage provided by
the sirens located in the northwest part of the community was conducted to determine if better
coverage could be provided by relocating the siren.
The analysis resulted in a recommendation to place the siren near the intersection of McAndrews
Road and Chinchilla Court to provide better coverage to the northwest portion of Rosemount.
This recommendation was based on the availability of power and the topography of area in
addition to providing better coverage.
Before installing the siren at the recommended location, other options and factors will be
discussed with Council.
