Nine bids were received and are listed for your review on the attached bid tabulation. The low bid received is from Bonine Excavating, Inc. of Elk River, Minnesota in the amount of 5668,382.70. The Engineers Estimate was 5789,000 based on construction costs from previous years. The firm of WSB & Associates, Inc., engineers for the project and Staff recommend the award of Project #280 to Bonine Excavating, Inc. in the amount of 5668,382.70. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND I, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE GERONIME POND STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, ' C1TY PROJECT #280. COUNCIL ACTION: 8 CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 1997 - A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AW�4RDING CONTRACT FOR GERONIME POND ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT #280 BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Councii of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows: 1 . All bids on construction of Geronime Pond Addition Street and Utility Improvements are hereby received and tabulated. 2. The bid of Bonine Excavating, Inc. in the amount of 5668,382.70 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a ', contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on �I behalf of the City of Rosemount. I 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been executed. A total of nine responsive bids were received. Bonine Excavating Inc. of Elk River, Minnesota submitted the lowest bid in the amount of$668,382.70. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. The Engineer's estimate was $789,000.00. Enclosed, please find the original proposals from all nine contractors for the above-referenced '�, proj ect. We are holding the bid bonds for the three low bidders until the contra.ct is entered into with ' Bonine Excavating. Upon execution of the contract, we will return those bid bonds to the appropriate contractors. All other bid bonds will be returned, along with an extension of bids,to the other bidders following council award of the project. The bid tabulation and bid extension are enclosed.
