Negotiations for the 1997-98 labor agreement between the city and public works maintenance employees
resulted in the below listed changes. It is staff's recommendation that the City Council consider the approving
the following wage and benefit changes:
(1) 3%wage increase for with 2.5% on base for 1997 and 3%for 1998.
{2} Uniform allowance will increase $30 for maintenance workers and custodian and $50 for mechanics.
(3) Columbus Day will be eliminated as a holiday and will be replaced by one floating holiday.
(4} Vacation accrual rate for during 16 yeaxs of employment will be 16 hourslmonth.
Staff supports these wage and benefit changes and recommend Council approval. ��
