The improvements will include street widening and resurfacing, storm drainage improvements, parking lot and trail improvements in Winds Crossing Park, and necessary water and sanitary sewer improvements. The majority of the work is in the street improvement area. The impetus for the project is the condition of the existing roadway and the new development happening adjacent to it. The funding for the project would come from many sources, including assessments, Municipal State Aid, the Capital Improvement Plan Funds (which will come from 1998 general taxes), the sanitary sewer, watermain and storm drain utility operating and core funds, plus the Park Improvement Fund. Staff will be assigning this project to WSB & Associates. We are requesting the initiation of the project now to allow for the necessary survey work to be completed prior to snowfall. As stated, this will be a municipal state aid street improvement which are now required to be completed in metric units. Staff recommends adopting the attached resolution to direct Staff to begin work on the Chippendale Avenue Improvements. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Engineer is directed to have the necessary feasibility report prepared for the Chippendale Avenue Street and Utility Improvements from GSAH 42 to 160th Street, City Project #290.
