Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates was hired by the City to update the City's Comprehensive Water
Plan. Previously the City had a report prepared by TKDA in 1987. The purpose of the Plan is to investigate the
existing system and predict where future trunk facilities are needed and upgrades are necessary. Staff will
present an overview of the report at the meeting and answer any questions you may have.
The Report identifies sites for future trunk facilities such as wells, water towers and water treatment plants. The
Utility Commission recommended that Staff begin approaching property owners for the ne�water tower site
and the possible water treatment plant site. The report also recommends that the City utilize trunk area charges
for water in much the same way that the Storm Water Area Chaxges axe collected.
This report was accepted by the Utility Commission and will be presented to the City Council at a later date. It
will be incorporated into the 1998 Comprehensive Guide Plan update and sent at that time for review by Met
Council.
