Octoberfest CITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SLTMMARY FOR DISCUSSION CONIMITTEE OF THE WHOLE DATE: FEBRUARY 3, 1997 AGENDA ITEM: JAYCEES OCTOBERFEST AGENDA NO. 2.G PREPARED BY: Thomas D. Burt, City Administratar AGENDA NO. ATTACHMENTS: Letter from Keith Wunder-Joyce APPROVED BY: Mr. Wunder-Joyce has discussed the idea of an Octoberfest in Rosemount and it appears from this letter he is proceeding with his idea. To date we do not have an exact location where he wishes to hold such a celebration and has not received formal approval to hold this event in any city park. This event has not been budgeted for any in kind assistance by the City. Mr. Wunder-Joyce has discussed the possibility of this event taking place at Erickson Park(City Hall parking lot). We have estimated the cost of for police service to be approximately $6,500. The cost of public works tirne to be at appromately $2,500 for preparation of temporary fencing clean up and repair of holes in the parking lot from tent stakes. Additional staff time may also be part of this depending on City participation. At a previous goal setting session it was discussed that the City would only participate in City sponsored events and a11 other events would have to reimburse the above costs. If the City Council does approve this location, then staffwill seek direction of how the City involvement will be expected in this event.
