Dana Brodt has served the City of Rosemount as Rental Coordinator since October, 1993. Her tasks
have been focused on the scheduling of all activities at the Community Center. Dana resigned two
weeks ago after accepting a new position with ISD#196.
A replacement has been selected from within the existing Parks and Recreation staff. I recommend
Lisa Mauer for the position of Rental Coordinator. Lisa began her work in the department last April
as an intern. Lisa graduated with a four year degree in parks and recreation program from the
University of Minnesota in June, 1997. As part of her internship, Lisa developed an excellent home
page for the deparhnent. This project is still in use through the City's home page. Her internship
was designed to give her exposure to the entire department including youth and adult programs,
facility management, and playground design. She assisted with new program development
including the highly successful t-ball program. An evaluation of Lisa at the end of her internship
indicated high initiative,positive attitude, excellent people skills, and strong drive to complete her
tasks.
Last suinmer, Lisa coordinated the playground program and supervised the ball fields on various
evenings. She has served as receptionist for the department since the deparlure of Andrea Oney in
August.
Because of the broad experience Lisa Mauer has obtained from work with all aspects of the
department,her educational background and demonstrated performance, I recommend her for the
position of Rental Coordinator.
Recommended Action: Motion to approve the resignation of Dana Brodt and to approve the
hiring of Lisa Mauer as Rental Coordinator.
