On Wednesday, August 13, 1997, bids for the referenced project were received and read
aloud publicly. Six bids were received and are listed for your review on the attached bid
tabulation. The low bidder for the project is Redstone Construction Co., Inc. in the
amount of $353,362.34.
The Engineer's Estimate was $357,459.50 based on construction costs from previous
years.
The firm of WSB & Associates, engineers for the project, and Staff recommend the
award of Project #282 to Redstone Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of
$353,362.34.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE McNAMARA ADDITION STREET & UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #282.

RESOLUTION 1997 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT.
FOR McNAMARA ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT #282
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of McNamara Addition Street and Utility
Improvements are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of Redstone Construction Co., Inca in the amount of $353,362.34
for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and
specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall
be and hereby is accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on
behalf of the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all
successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a
contract has been executed.
ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 1997.

Bids were received for the above -referenced project on Wednesday, August 13, 1997, at
Rosemount City Hall. A total of six (6) responsive bids were received. Redstone
Construction Company, Inc. of Mora, Minnesota submitted the lowest bid in the amount
of $353,362.34. The bids were cheeped for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. The
Engineer's Estimate was $357,459.50.
Therefore, we recommend award of the contract to Redstone Construction Company,
Inc., PO Box 218, Mora, Minnesota in the amount of $353,362.34 for the completion of
City Project 282.
