In the memo Staff requested that Council provide the names of up to five residents or business owners who utilize CSAH 42 who would like to be a part of an Advisory Committee for this study. The County requested that the names be provided to them by April 25, 1997. The goal tonight is to direct Staff to complete this list of your recommendations for the Advisory Committee. R J � �, � � . 9 ME�VIO i TO: MAYOR BUSHO COUNCIL MEMBERS: ANDERSON CARROLL EDWAROS WIPPERMANN TOM BURT, C1TY ADMINISTRATOR FROM: BUD OSMUNDSON, CITY ENGiNEER/PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: APRIL 7, 1997 RE: COUNTY ROAD 42 (CSAH421 CORRiDOR STUDY As you are aware, Dakota County, along with MNDOT, Met Councii, Scott County and the Cities of Prior Lake, Shakopee, Savage, Burnsviile, Appie Vailey and Rosemount have met twice in regards to compteting a study for the CSAH 42 Corridor f�om Trunk Highway 55 in Rosemount all the way to Trunk Highway 41 in Shakopee. Attached is a copy of the meeting agenda from Friday, Aprii 4, 1997 and a copy of the preliminary draft of the request for proposals (or RFP) for the proposed study. This study would be funded entirely by the Counties and MNDOT. Tom has asked me to represent Rosemount in all meetings regarding this project Also attached is a copy of a letter sent by the Mayors of Rosemount, Apple Valley and Burnsville to Dakota County Commissioners requesting involvement of business representatives in this study. At the meeting on April 4, 1997 it was decided by all involved that there would be two committees that would be advising, reviewing documents, and making recommendations to the consuitant and the project manager, Lezlie Vermillion, of the Dakota County Highway Department. The Technical Committee would be composed of Staff members from the various agencies involved. A second committee called the Advisory Committee, would be composed of business representatives and residents who live or work along the corridor. Each City is to recommend up to five (5) people for this Advisory Committes. It was discussed and agreed upon that the Advisory Committee members r�2t hold political office. The Committee would probably meet at most on a monthly basis as the project progresses. The first meeting of the Committee would be on May 16, 1997 where the consultant would be introduced to all involved. As described in the RFP, the goal is to have the study begin on June 1, 1997 and have a final report completed by January 1998. Our goal is to have the recommended Advisory Committee Members be appointed by I�! the Council at the April 15, 1997 City Council meeting so that the names can be ', provided to the County ihe following week.
