As requested by the Carrolls Woods Sub-Committee and the Parks and Recreation Committee last month, I have
prepared a draft ordinance prohibiting the use of bicycles in Carrolls Woods. The purpose of this ordinance is to
reduce the amount of damage to trails and plant life caused by bicycle use in Carrolls Woods.
I am presenting this ordinance to City Council as a first reading. Pending changes, I will resubmit the ordinance
to City Council for final approval on July 15, 1997.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: First reading, feedback requested

AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF PARKS;
AMENDING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 3, OF T�IE
CITY CODE OF ROSEMOUNT
The City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota ordains as follows:
SECTION I: Title 4, Chapter 3 of the Rosemount City Code is hereby amended as
follows:
4-3-18: BICYCLE USE IN CARROLLS WOODS: The use of
bicycles in Carrolls Woods is prohibited.
4-3-19: PENALTY: Any person violating any provision of this
Chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
punished not more than the maximum penalty for a misdemeanor as
prescribed by law.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be effective the day following its adoption and
publication.
ADOPTED this day of July, 1997.
