To provide sanitary sewer service to this area the project known as the Brockway Draw Trunk Sanitary Sewer needs to be constructed. This sewer will be constructed in a northwesterly direction from the corner rnanhole of the MCES interceptor located in the CMC 226 acre site. Eventually this sewer will connect with the sewer which was installed for the Armory/Community Center on Connemara Trail. Eventually this sewer will cross Highway 3 to serve part of the Kelly Trust Property known as the Daley farm. Staff is recommending that Council authorize the Feasibility Report for the first segment of this sewer. The first segment is proposed to only be constructed to the northerly limits of the Biscayne Pointe property. If the City receives development plans north of this point during the process prior to construction, that part could be added to the project. The tentative schedule for the project wou(d be as follows: • Order Feasibility Report July 1, 1997 • Receive Feasibility Report August 19, 1997 � Public Hearing September 2, 1997 • Order Plans & Spec's September 2, 1997 • Receive Plans & Spec's/Order Ad for Bid October 7, 1997 • Receive Bids/Award Contract November 4, 1997 • Begin Construction No�ember 17, 1997 • Complete Construction January, 1998 Staff recommends the action as stated below. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING PETITION AND ORDERING A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR BROCKWAY DRAW TRUNK SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT, CITY PROJECT #286 COUNCIL ACTION: 3 1 1 1 CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 1997 62 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING PETITION AND ORDERING FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR THE BROCKWAY DRAW TRUNK SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT CITY PROJECT #286 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount has received a petition from a property owner who will benefit from the proposed Brockway Draw Trunk Sanitary Sewer Improvements, City Project ##286. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount as follows: ATTEST: (1) A certain petition requesting sanitary sewer service to their property, filed with the Council on July 1, 1997, is hereby declared to be signed by the required percentage of owners of property affected thereby. This declaration is made in conformity to Minnesota Statutes, Section 429.035. (2) The petition is hereby referred to the City Engineer and that person is instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost- effective, and feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.
