This item is a request for Council to approve the plans and specifications and order the
advertisement for bids for the Hawkins Pond Street & Utility Improvements, City Project
#275. We have a set of plans and specifications on file in my office for your
examination. Previously, the Council had received a feasibility report on February 18, ,
1997 and had the public hearing on March 4, 1997 after which the project and the �,
preparation of plans and specifications was ordered. ,
The bid opening date has been set for April 11, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at City halL On
April 15, 1997, Council will be asked to award the contract for this project. The project
is scheduled to begin in late April or early May.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING PLANS &
SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING AD FOR BID FOR HAWKINS POND STREET AND UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #275.

RESOLUTION 1997 -
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS
HAWKINS POND STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT #275
WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineers for the City have prepared fina! plans and specifications ;,
for the Hawkins Pond Street & Utility Improvements, City Project #275, and such plans and ',
specifications have been presented to this Council for approvaL• '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1 . Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper
and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications for City Project #275.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at Ieast once not
less than three (3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work
to be done, shall state that bids will be publicly opened on April 11, 1997 at 10:00
o'clock a.m. at Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered
unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five C5%)
percent of the amount of such bid.
