Greg Smith has tendered his resignation as assistant fire chief of the Fire Department. The process as set out in
the Fire Department's current"Bylaws" has been initiated. A special election by the fire department members
will be held on May 27, 1997. The City Council will be asked to ratify this appointment at the first regular city
council meeting in June.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF GREG SMITH AS
ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF
