The police department is now handling complaints received from our citizens regarding certain cit ordinances that were handled b other cit de artments. Y Y Y P Duties of the second CSO\Code Enforcement Officer will include spending time surveying the city to maintain the aesthetics standards set by the city council. The target group for CSO candidates is law enforcement students. Five ' applications were received from the four colleges contacted. Oral interviews were conducted and the recommended candidate is Brian Thureson. Mr. Thureson is in his third year at Metropolitan State University and maintaining a G.P.A. of 3 .65 in law enforcement. Mr. Thureson has worked part-time for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety - Liquor Control during 1995-1996 as a liquor control decoy. He has also held part-time jobs as a security and loss prevention officer. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF BRIAN THURESON AS A PART-TIME CSO\CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AT A STARTING SALARY OF $7. 50 PER HOUR. COIINCIL ACTION:
