At the conclusion of the mediation meetin held on Janu 30, 1997 between AFSCME and the City, tentative
� �'Y
agreement was reached on the following items:
(1) 3% salary adjustments for 1997 and 1998 effective 7anuary 1, 1997.
(2} Salary adjustments, based on market, to the following positions: Assistant Planner, Sr. Accounting Clerk,
and Programmer effective first full pay period following approval of the contract. Establishment of a new
position called Sr. Engineering Technician.
(3) Columbus Day will be replaced with one floating holiday.
(4) Accrual rate for employees during their first year of employment will change from 5.53 hours/month to
6.67 hours/month.
It is staff s recommendation that the City Council approve theses changes to the existing labor agreement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE T'HE ABOVE SALARY AND BENEFIT
