The successful accomplishments achieved through this partnership inspire us to look with confidence to a bright future that we can shape throughout dreams, determination and commitment. A press release with scheduled events is attached. Councilmembers please try to schedule your time to be present at one or more of the events, especially the open house on October 12th. We will need people to give tours and answer questions. It's all going to happen at City Hall's Open House. Come join your city officials and staff as they celebrate"You and City Government-Building Strong Futures in Rosemount."Several events will occur during Minnesota Cities Week 1997: October 9th, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ground Breaking for the Family Resource Center Celebration for Awareness of Violence Prevention Month whose theme is "Your the One Who Can Make the Peace". Come for free hotdogs, drinks, face painting, informational pamphlets,bonfire. (Corner of 145th St. & Cimarron Ave.) October l Oth, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Community Center Open House with music, "Tune Into Kidst geared far children and their grown-up friends; tours &refreshments;Teen Night; Seniors Cribbage Tournament October 12th, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Open House at following: City Hall - ground water display, practice voting,voter registration, free balloons Public Works - see equipment, talk with staff Police Dept. - see squad cars and police bikes close up, "crash car" on site Erickson Square Shelter- Play Park Trivia and win free open skating passes Fire Hall - Sit in fire truck, free cookies &punch Cities Week is an annual statewide celebration of cities. It is sponsored by the League of Minnesota Cities. The purpose of Cities Week is to recognize the great things our city has accomplished, increase citizen involvement in city government affairs, and promote city pride.
