Sheila Klassen and I will be presenting an update on the Rosemount Family Resource Center. I have
attached the latest revision of the project schedule. We are preparing for grading so that the site is ready for
ALC students to begin construction next spring. Funding for the project is moving along nicely as we are
near completing our goal of raising $352,173.00. A summary of funding received thus far follows:
USPCI Trust Fund $30,000.00
McKnight Foundation $50,000.00
NSP Foundation $10,000.00
Youth Initiative Grant $204.850.00
Total Funds Committed $294,850.00
Our fundraising efforts have exceeded the amount needed to build the facility. Play equipment, basketball
court, and other site amenities are planned at the end of the schedule to ensure plenty of time to raise the
remaining $57,323.00 needed to complete the project. We are currently awaiting the results of a recent grant
submitted to the Minnesota Department of Economic Security.
A ground breaking ceremony is scheduled on Thursday, October 9, 1997, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Many people
are expected to attend including funders, elected off'icials, volunteers, residents, and members of the media.
