The sign ordinance amendment included for Tuesday night's agenda was precipitated by the proposed sign at
the Communiry Center. A question regarding a similar sign in Eagan prompted a phone call to a contact in the
Eagan Planning Department. Unfortunately,the Eagan sign ordinance takes an approach to flashing lights
which is very similar to Rosemount. The only current allowance for flashing lights in Eagan is time and
temperature. Staff will continue to look for examples in other cities and attempt to find applicable exceptions or
standards.
