Re: Future Planning for the University of Minnesota Experiment Station and Research Center
Dear Mr. Burt,
As all of you are well aware, the University of Minnesota's land holding of the Rosemount Experiment Station
and Research Center impact on the functions of Dakota County. The experiment station and research center
have been under several long range plans in the past. As the University of Minnesota continues to keep relevant
with it's research mission, the roles and activities of the station and center continue to change. An advisory
council has been utilized to interact with the community as the University of Minnesota has modified the
activities of the experiment station and research center.
Now the university is embarking on a new/revised long range plan for this property. They have asked me to
facilitate a meeting to gather input from the community as this planning takes shape. I would like to invite you to
an informational/input meeting on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:00 pm at the Rosemount City Hall in Rosemount.
Dakota County Commissioners, the Rosemount City Council and Planning Commission, the Coates City
Council, the Vermillion Township Board, the Empire Township Board and Planning Commission, the University
of Minnesota, Rosemount Advisory Council and several staff from the University of Minnesota Central
Administration and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences will be in attendance to share
and listen.
I look forward to your attendance at this important setting that could have far reaching impact on Dakota
County.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Rosemount in
Dakota County, Minnesota will have a Special Council Meeting at City Hall,
located at 2875 145th Street West, Rosemount, Minnesota, on Wednesday,
April 10, 1996, in the Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to have a joint workshop session hosted by the
Minnesota Extension Service helping the University o f Minnesota on the long range
planning for the University of Minnesota Experiment Station and Research Center.
