The Parks and Recreation Commission recently discussed moving forward with officially naming the
public park in the Greystone Development. Past practice has been for the Parks and Recreation
Commission to make a recommendation to the City Council regarding the names of new City parks.
The City typically names our parks after subdivision names, street names, special land features or historic
land owners. At the bottom of the page is a layout of the recent development (including street names) that
has taken place around the park. The Parks and Recreation Commission felt that there were not many
prominent land features or historical factors associated with this property, and recommended that the park
be named Greystone Park.
Staff requests City Council direction on moving forward with the naming of the new park in the
Greystone Development.
