As requested by City Council at a goal setting meeting last March, I have investigated the feasibility of
purchasing an outlot of Rosewood Manor located at the intersection of 145th Street and Cimaron Avenue. It
was suggested that the location of the Rosewood outlot (the current site of the community garden) may be a
more appropriate site for the proposed Family Resource Center because of it's proximity to Rosemount
Greens and Cimaron housing complexes. The size of this vacant lot is 1.15 acres.
The owner of Rosewood Manor has expressed interest in selling this property to the City for such a purpose.
The owner has not indicated a selling price and has asked the amount the City would offer. I am requesting
City Council to approve the expense of an appraisal to determine a reasonable purchase price. The appraisal
would be funded through park dedication.
When an appraisal is completed, I will return to the City Council for direction.on the purchase of this
property.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to authorize an appraisal of the Rosewood Manor Outlot.
