In February, Staff discussed with Council the location of the proposed Well # 9.
The O'Leary's Hills outlot location was chosen for numerous reasons which I can
explain, if requested. The well and pumphouse construction are proposed to be in
two separate contracts. This item tonight is to approve plans and specifications
and order ad for bid for only the well drilling. In two months, we will come back
with separate plans and specifications for the well pumphouse.
Well #9 is proposed to be a Jordan Sandstone Aquifer well which will be
approximately 500 feet deep and is planned to pump 1,200 gallons per minute.
The estimated cost of only the well is approximately $150,000.00 to
$160,000.00. Dick Foster, P.E. of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, is
the project manager for the well and pumphouse project and has completed
preparation of the plans and specifications for the well. The total cost of Well #9
will be paid for from the Water Core Fund #605. The well will take approximately
3-4 months to drill and develop. Then the pump and pumphouse will take 4-6
months to complete.
Staff recommends the action as stated below.

RESOLUTION 1996 -
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS
WELL #9
CITY PROJECT #273A
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount by a unanimous vote have ordered
the preparation of plans and specifications for Well #9, City Project #273A and such plans
and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1 . Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper
and the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications for City Project #273A.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not
less than three (3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work
to be done, shall state that bids will be publicly opened on May 31 , 1996 at 11 :00
o'clock a.m. at Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered
unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5%)
percent of the amount of such bid.
