The City received and opened five bids on June 21, 1996 for the 1996 Bituminous
Overlay and Appurtenant Work, City Project #274.
City Staff has reviewed the bids and the low bidder is Bituminous Roadways, Inc., 9050
Jefferson Trail West, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077, with a total bid of $45,800. This
bid is $9,882.50 below the Engineer's Estimate.
Staff recommends that Council adopt a resolution receiving the bids and awarding the
contract to Bituminous Roadways, Inc. in the amount of $45,800.
Also attached is a breakdown of the revised estimated cost and the new pending
assessment amount. With the actual bid prices plus other expenses and a contingency,
the pending assessment is now $230.00 per lot compared to the original estimate of
$261 .40 per lot.
The project should start and be completed within a few weeks.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1996 BITUMINOUS OVERLAY AND APPURTENANT
WORK, CITY PROJECT #274.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR 1996 BITUMINOUS OVERLAY AND APPURTENANT WORK
IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 274
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of 1996 Bituminous Overlay and Appurtenant Work
Improvements are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of Bituminous Roadways, Inc. in the amount of $45,800.00 for the
construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and
specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall
be and hereby is accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on
behalf of the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all
successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a
contract has been executed.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of July, 1996.
