Brown, Water Resources Coordinator - AGENr9FM # 5 ATTACHMENTS: Letter, Resolution, Grant Agreement APPROVED BY MOM The Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources has awarded the City of Rosemount a grant totaling $15,000 to assist us in developing a wetland inventory, wetland plan and implementing ordinance. The grant application was unanimously approved by the City Council on June 18th. The City is required to match any grant funding through in-kind services. This can be in the form of labor or hardware required for completion of the project. The offered resolution is required to authorize signature and finalize the agreement for the grant. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt a resolution authorizing signature of the Board of Water & Soil Resources 1997 Wetland Planning Challenge Grant Documents I COUNCIL ACTION: jW CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 1996 - A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SIGNATURE OF BOARD OF WATER AND SOIL RESOURCES, 1997 WETLAND PLANNING CHALLENGE GRANT DOCUMENTS NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount approves of the City of Rosemount entering into a Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota to receive state funds for developing and implementing comprehensive wetland protection and management plans through the 1997 Wetland Planning Challenge Grant, under the terms of the Grant Agreement and all statutory requirements; and THAT THE City Council authorizes the expenditure of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) in- kind contributions to match the 1997 Wetland Planning Challenge Grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is authorized to execute the Grant Agreement together with all related documents. ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 1996. WHEREAS, the Laws of Minnesota, 1996, chapter 462, section 42. authorize the Board to award grants to local governmental units fbr developing and Implementing comprehensive wedand protection and management plans; and WHEREAS, the Grantee is eligible to obtain a state Challenge Grant to develop and implement comprehensive wedand protection and management plans, provided that the Grantee shall match state grant funds with local funds on a one-to-one ratio; and WHEREAS, the Grantee has submitted an application to the Board for a Challenge Grant and agrees to provide the 1ocaI matching share; and WHEREAS, the Board has selected and approved the application from the above-described Grantee for challenge grant funding. B. The title for equipment purchased with the funding provided in this contract shall be taken in the name of the State of Minnesota. The equipment will remain the property of the State for its useful life.
