On November 5, 1996 the Rosemount City Council adopted Ordinance No. B-72 entitled An Ordinance
Providing for Changes to the Definitions, Permitted uses and Development Regulations for Self -Service Storage
Facilities Qvfini-Storage).
Attached is a summary of the same for publication. Your approval is needed for publication.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to approve the summary of Ordinance B-72 for publication
regarding permitted uses and development regulations for self-service storage facilities ( Nlini-Storage).

RESOLUTION 1996-,
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE B-72
AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION AND POSTING THEREOF
WHEREAS, on November 5th, 1996, the Rosemount City Council adopted Ordinance
No. B-72 entitled An Or&nance Provi&ng for 0ianges to the Definitions, Permitted Uses and
Development Regulations for Setf-Service Storage Facilities (Mini -Storage);
WHEREAS, said ordinance is lengthy, and the city would incur unnessary expense by
the publication of the entire text of the ordinance; and
WHEREAS, city staff has prepared an ordinance summary which the city council has
reviewed and which the council finds would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect
of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. The ordinance summary attached hereto is hereby approved;
2. The city clerk shall publish the ordinance summary in the official newspaper
pursuant to and in accordance with the requirements of Minnesota Statutes,
Section 412.191, subd. 4; and
3. The city clerk shall make available a copy of the full text of the ordinance to
any person during normal business hours and shall post a copy of the full text of
the ordinance on the public bulletin board at city hall for a period of sixty (60)
days from the adoption of this ordinance.

Section 3.2, Defuidtions. The definition of "Self-service Storage Facility" and Self-service
Storage Facility, Storage Space" is added to this section of Ordinance B, Zoning Regulations.
Section 6.12, C-3 11ighway Service Commercial District; B. Uses Permitted By Right.
Self-service storage facility is added to this section of Ordinance B, Zoning Regulations with
eight corresponding standards. These standards relate to outdoor storage, peximeter enclosure,
storage space openings/doors, green space, landscaping, caretaker residence, exterior wall
materials, and hours of operation.
Section 6.14, BP Business Park District; B. Uses Permitted by Right. Self-service storage
facility is added as a permitted use to the BP -1 District subject to the same eight standards of
the C-3 District.
Section 6.15, IG General Industrial District; B. Uses Permitted by Right. Self-service
storage facility is added to this section of Ordinance B, Zoning Regulations with eight
corresponding standards. These standards relate to perimeter enclosure, storage space
openings/doors, green space, caretaker residence, outdoor storage, height of outdoor storage,
fencing of outdoor storage, and maximum area for outdoor storage.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and publication according
to law.
ENACTED AND ORDAINED into an Ordinance on the 5th day of November, 1996
