On Friday, March 29, 1996, bids for the referenced project were received and read aloud
publicly. Seven (7) bids were received and are listed for your review on the attached bid
tabulation.
The apparent low bid received is from Arcon Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$1,617,512.02. The Engineer's Estimate was $1,840,000 based on 1994 and 1995
construction costs. WSB & Associates will verify the apparent low bid and Council will
be informed of any change in the low bid status.
The firm of WSB & Associates, engineer for the project, and Staff recommend the award
of Project No. 266 to Arcon Construction, Inca in the amount of $1,61 7.512.02.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1996 STREET & UTILITY RECONSTRUCTION
IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #266.

RESOLUTION 1996 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR 1996 STREET & UTILITY RECONSTRUCTION IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT #266
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of 1996 Street & Utility Reconstruction improvements
are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of Arcon Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,617,512.02 for the
construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and
specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall
be and hereby is accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on
behalf of the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all
successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a
contract has been executed.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of April, 1996.
