Box 510 Rosemount, MN 55068.0510 Phone: 612- 423 -4411 Fax: 612- 423 -5203 This letter is intended to directly inform you, a septic system owner /operator in the City of Rosemount, that the City of Rosemount is intending to adopt a newly revised Septic System Ordinance which will require bi- annual septic system inspections and/or pumping of septic tanks. This Ordinance proposal has been in the works for sometime now, however, it has not been completely adopted as of yet. It is our intention to provide two public informational meetings prior to the formal Planning Commission meeting and public hearings. The intent of the informational meetings is to provide information on septic system operation and use and the proper maintenance and care of a septic system. We will also go through the proposed Ordinance and discuss how it will affect you. Every septic system owner in the City will be directly affected by the Ordinance. We would welcome your attendance and hope that you could provide some additional input with regards to the Ordinance. As stated earlier, we will be holding two meetings. Both will be on exactly the same thing, however to provide for better scheduling we will be holding them on separate nights. Both meetings will be held at the Rosemount Community Center Auditorium, on the upper level. The dates of the meetings will be February 21, 1996 and March 14, 1996. Both will start at 7:00 p.m. The meetings will be very informal. There will be NO votes or Council decisions made at these meetings. They are for information and discussion only. Public hearings will be scheduled for late March and Mid -April for the Planning Commission and the City Council, respectively. Notification of these public hearings will be published in the Farmington Independent. Copies of the draft Ordinance are available in the City Hall lobby, free of charge. They will also be provided at the meeting. Again we would highly recommend that you schedule some time to attend this important meeting. However, if you cannot attend I may be able to provide some insight as to the requirements over the phone. If you would like additional information you may contact me at City hall at 322 -2024.
