We are planning to utilize the seal coating, striping, crack sealing and sweeping items from this Joint Powers Agreement, which will be funded from appropriated budget items. The Joint Powers Agreement was approved by Council on January 17, 1995. Allied Blacktop Company, 10503 89th Avenue North, Maple Grove, Minnesota 55369, is the low bidder for sealcoating and street sweeping. AAA Striping, Inc. 5392 Quam Avenue, Rogers, Minnesota 55374 is the low bidder for the traffic markings, and Bergman Companies, P. 0. Box 659, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54702 is the low bidder for crack sealing. These same three companies were low bidders last year and did a fine job. The sealcoating price has increased 9.2%, the striping has increased 5.8% and the sweeping has increased 2.2% over the 1994 prices. We will have to cut back on the amount of sealcoating planned to stay within budget. Staff recommends approval of the bids and award of the contract to the appropriate tow bidders.
