At the April 18th meeting, Council accepted the resignation of Jane Gilb, Payroll Clerk, and
authorized the posting and advertising for the replacement of that position. We received
appraximately 50 applications for the position and interviewed 5 of those applicants. After
consideration, we have chosen Linda Mortenson as our candidate for the position of Payroll
Clerk. Linda has almost 17 years of accounting experience including all areas that the Payroll
Clerk position requires. Staff feels that Linda would be an excellent choice for the position and
recommend the approval of her hiring, contingent upon a driver's ficense check. Linda would
start out at a salary of 528,375.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the hiring of Linda Mortenson for the position of Payroll Clerk at a starting salary of
528,375, contingent upon a driver's license check.
