Over the past few months administration and the police department have received ca11s from residents who are
registering complaints about dog owners not cleaning up after their dogs. The complaints are about dog feces on
sidewalks and boulevards. The current ordinance only requires and regulates clean up of dog feces on park
property. In order to issue citations to offenders, the City Code needs to be amended to include "other city
property or public right-of-way.
Please consider this the first reading of the recommended amendment. It will be brought back to the city council
for adoption at the November 7, 1995 meeting. _
