BURT, AGENDA CM ], CITY ADNIINISTRATOR C } ATTACHMF.NTS: NIIIVIO FROM FIRE CHIEF AKER, APPROVED BY: LETTER FROM IIVIERGENCY APPARATUS MAINTENANCE The 32 year old pumper was declared surplus equipment by City Council so bids were requested for its disposal. The 7anuary 31 st bid closing revealed there were no bids submitted. Following this there were conversations with Emergency Apparatus Maintenance, they have worked on several city fire vehicles, to exchange services, equipment, and one dollar for the old pumper. After review with the City Attorney Charlie LeFevere it was determined appropriate to accept the offer from Emergency Apparatus Maintenance. RECOMIV.NDED ACTION: MOTION to accept offer from Emergency Apparatus Maintenance Inc. for the Rosemount Fire Department Pumper 35182. COUNCIL ACTION: > , AOSEMOUNT VOLUNTEEK FIAE DEPAKTMENT ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA 55068 MEMO TO: Thomas Burt, City Administrator FROM: Scott Aker, Fire Chief DATE: March 13, 1995 RE: Proposal to Purchase Pumper 351$2 In 7anuary of 1995 pumper 35182, our 32 year old pumper was declared surplus equipment by city council and we solicited bids for its disposal. The bidding closed on January 31 st and there were no bids submitted. Subsequent to that time we have had conversations with Emergency Apparatus Maintenance, who works on quite a few of our vehicles, and they have indicated an interest in the pumper. A copy of their proposal is attached for your consideration. It appears that their proposal would give the city $1,601.00 worth of equipment, services, and cash. Because the fire department has no further use for the vehiclz and neither does any other department within the city it appears that this is one of the best offers we will receive and the fire department would suggest proceeding with this offer. A pumper of this type would not fare very well in a city auction and this is probably the best offer we will hope to receive. Please let me know if this would or would not be acceptable to the city, if so I will make the arrangements for the transfer of title and, if not I will contact Emergency Apparatus Maintenance and return their check to them. dw r . ^ RGENc `PF.A -__- A 204 THIRD AVEN[;E S.E NEW BRIGHTON,MN 55112 i-80DEAM•3911 (612)636628 3-5-95 Rosemount Fire Department 2$75 145th St. W.
