On October 3, 1995 the City CounciJ received the resignation of a Public Works
Maintenance employee and authorized the posting and advertisement for the same
position. The City received 35 applications for this job. This number was reduced to 8
candidates to interview for the position. Susan Walsh, Rick Cook, Mike Widstrom and
myself interviewed these 8 candidates on October 30, 1995. All had good qualifications
for the position.
It is Staffs recommendation to approve the hiring of Mr. Todd Ratzlaff for this position.
Mr. Ratzlaff has approximately two years experience with Public Works Maintenance for
other communities and the City of Rosemount as a Maintenance employee. While he
was here, Mr. Ratzlaff exhibited a number of qualities which were noticed by his
supervisors. In the interview it was very apparent that Mr. Ratzlaff has a lat of pride in
his home town of Rosemount and is very enthusiastic about working for the City. If
approved, Mr. Ratzlaff will begin working with the City as soon as possible per the
conditions of the Teamsters Contract.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AUTHORIZE THE HIRING OF TODD RATZLAFF AS A
PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEE SUBJECT TO THE PASSING OF THE PRE-
EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL AND DRIVER'S LICENSE CHECK.
