The City of Rosemount has received an Application for Authorization for an Exemption from Lawful Gambling
License from St. 7ohn's Lutheran Church, 3285 - 144th Street West. The application is to seek approval far
selling rai�les as a fundraiser. The city council has the statutory authority to deny this application prior to
approval by the State gambling board. There is a thirty day waiting period from the date the application is
received by the city before the state will approve the application. Since I did not receive this until August 1,
1995 and the event is August 25, 1995, I am recommending that the thirty day period allowed for processing be
waived. Attached is a resolution for your consideration and adoption.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR AUTHORTZATION
FOR EXEMPTION FROM LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,thax the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby approves
the Application for Authorization for an Exemption from Lawful Gambling License submitted by St. John's
Lutheran Church for the selling of raffles on August 25, 1995; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLYED that the thirty day waiting period is hereby waived by the Rosemount City
Council.
