The 1996 Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Utility Operating Budgets provide the
funding for an additional Public Works Maintenance Employee. This was planned for and
budgeted in the new sewer and water user rates which were put into effect in 1994.
The addition of this person is necessary due to the increased growth in the City. This
position will work mainly in utilities, but also will plow snow and work in other areas as
necessary. It is imperative to continue the Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer
U#ility maintenance to provide these services for the residents of Rosemount. We are
trying our best to manage our budget and manpower in this age of very tight funding.
However, with the added growth in the City, it has become necessary to add another
full-time employee.
Staff recommends the hiring of this person early in 1996 to help with snowplowing and
other maintenance duties.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AUTHORIZE THE POSTING AND ADVERTISEMENT
FOR A PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEE.
