At their regular Utility Commission meeting, January 9, 1995, the Utility Commission
passed a motion to recommend to the City Council the start of the hiring process for the
permanent part-time secretary for the Public Works Department. The funding for this
position was approved in the 1995 Utility Budget.
This position would be working at the Maintenance Shop inputting data and work orders
on the Preventative Maintenance Program. This position also would take care of the
myriad of paperwork required by State and County Agencies in the areas of water,
sanitary sewer and hazardous waste. This position would also assist in phone and radio
communications with the Public and Staff. This position would also be a back-up for the
Public Works Secretary. The position is budgeted for 20 hours per week. It is hoped to
have this person on board by February 22, 1995.
Staff recommends Council approval for proceeding with the job advertisement and
interview process.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO START THE HIRING
PROCESS FOR A PERMANENT PART-TIME SECRETARY AIDE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT.
