ISSUE The Parks and Recreation Department recently put the Steeple Center Lighting Project out to bid for a second time. For this bid we broke the project into three different parts. The base bid was to light up the steeple. Bid alternate #1 was to add lighting to the front of the building and bid alternate #2 was to add lighting to the front windows from inside of the building. Staff followed the state bidding laws with regards to posting the project in our official paper. We also posted the project at the local building exchanges and contacted several contractors letting them know about the project. Ten contractors received copies of the plans and specs. A pre-bid meeting was held to give contractors a chance to walk through the project site and ask questions. We had only one contractor attend the walk through. The City received one bid for the project which is listed below. The total bid amounts that we received were for the cost of the equipment and installation.
