As you know, the City was not awarded the Innovation Grant for the
family resource building which is propased to be located near
Rosemount Greens and Cimarron Village. The purpose of the building
is to provide a permanent on-site location for the administering of
social programs to those residents in need. It is also part of the
proposed plan to lower the future density in that area. Because of
the Council ' s support for this project, staff is looking for other
potential funding sources.
An example of such a funding source is the McKnight Foundation.
Their upcoming deadline for the pre-application letter is March 1,
1995 . If a letter is submitted we will be notified in two to three
weeks whether or not our project meets their criteria and, if so,
will then be asked to submit a grant application by June 1995 .
Staff is asking for your approval to continue to seek funding for
this project from other sources, such as the McKnight Foundation,
with the understanding that acceptance of any funds must be
approved by the City Council . I will be happy to answer any
questions you may have in regard to this item.

Council.
